The Joint Commission Recognizes 106 HCA Hospitals as Top Performers

It was announced today that 106 of HCA’s licensed hospitals in the U.S. were included among The Joint Commission’s (TJC) new list of Top Performers on Key Quality Measures®. Of the HCA hospitals recognized, 43 have been Top Performers all five years of the program’s existence. TJC’s Top Performers program recognizes hospitals that attain excellence on accountability measures related to evidence-based care for certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, children’s asthma, inpatient psychiatric services, stroke, venous thromboembolism, immunization and perinatal care. 85% of HCA Hospitals Named Top Performers by The Joint Commission

Eighty-five percent of HCA’s hospitals are on The Joint Commission’s (TJC) top performers list, as compared to 36.9 percent of all TJC-accredited hospitals reporting core measure performance data for 2013. Of the 115 HCA hospitals recognized, 48 have been Top Performers all four years of the program’s existence.
