If you don’t know anything about Nashville, it is a tight-knit community and prides itself on southern hospitality, togetherness and of course delicious southern food, but sometimes the southern lifestyle can quickly catch up to us. Heart disease strikes someone in the U.S. about once every 34 seconds…or about the length of the video you are about to see.
From hurricane relief to a helping hand for someone across campus, the HCA Hope Fund connects employees in need with those who can provide assistance. In so doing, it creates strong, deep ties across the company. What began as an informal way of connecting victims of natural disasters with co-workers who wanted to help spawned a bona fide non-profit agency. The Hope Fund is employee-run and supported. As a public charity, its goal is to help HCA employees who have been affected by financial hardship, which can include disaster, extended illness or injury, domestic violence, the death of a loved one… Read more.
Last weekend, runners from across the U.S. came to Nashville (our hometown) to participate in the Country Music Marathon. At HCA, 452 of our employees and their family members laced up their shoes and ran or walked the full or half marathon. They were part of what we call Team HCA.
We held a parade at our corporate campus in Nashville to honor the more than 4,400 veterans we have working with us company-wide. We even had a couple drummers from Vanderbilt lead the way! Here’s a short clip with remarks from CEO Richard Bracken. Thank you for all you do!
