Patients visiting the new Joint & Spine Center at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center could be forgiven for thinking they are in a hotel. The first time many staffers saw the center they made the same mistake. “It’s a 20-bed, boutique concept center,” says Tom Ozburn, CEO. “We wanted to expand our spine, orthopedic and neurosurgical offerings, but we wanted to do that in a nontraditional way. Shark Attack Highlights Need for Trauma Centers in Florida

On Wednesday, May 9, at around 11:30 am EST, a German tourist, was bitten by a shark in Vero Beach, Fla. Thanks to the quick action of local lifeguards and other rescue workers, she received help at the beach until being flown to trauma center Lawnwood Regional Medical Center. Thankfully, after surgery, she was able to recover.
